Hello and welcome to our club's website! Royal China was in business for about 50 years. For the most part Royal had a positive impact on the Sebring, Ohio area. In the beginning Royal help Sebring recover from the great depression. Royal was also a big help to America during WWII. In the following 30 years or so Royal was one of the largest employers in that area which in turn had a great influence on the local economy. Bea Miller, one of the founders of Royal always devoted much of her spare time and money to local charities and educational benefits. In the last 10 years, before Royal closed in March of 1986, many employees sacrificed benefits and pay in an effort to save the company. In considering all of these facts, it must seem like a small effort that we do as a collectors club but it is very important to us. We are all brought together with one common thought: to preserve the history and wares of Royal. But even more important is to keep the memory of their work alive and pass this information down to our children and grandchildren. That is the mission of our members. It seems like a duty to remember these grand old factories like Royal. This would be lost forever if it were not for our club. Royal produced some of the most unique and classic patterns ever manufactured. It would be our shame if they were lost in history. We are just common people who want to save the good memories from our past. We get together just two days a year, just like a family reunion to celebrate Royal. This is our convention which we plan for all year. Just two days, it doesn't seem like much and it goes by very fast. This is time well spent. We all face many challenges in today's world. Our club with the friendships of other members and our conventions are a great diversion from the stress of everyday life. Some of us keep in touch and visit each other all year round. There are still new discoveries to find about Royal China. If this is your first time visiting our website and you are thinking about joining please consider this my personal invitation to be part of our growing family of collectors. Our fellow members will make you feel right at home. We are a friendly bunch of crazy Royal collectors who can't wait to welcome new members. You will meet some of the nicest people you will ever get to know. You might even have "fun" getting involved with club activities. We can always use the extra help and fresh ideas. Also, you can take advantage of networking with other members with the buy, sell and trade. So, no matter what your interest in Royal is or what pattern you collect, you are encouraged to come and join the "fun." The modest club dues is money well spent. Don't be shy, just fill out the membership form and mail it in. If you have any questions or suggestions please feel free to contact me any time. Dave Folckemer, President
